In Manitoba we have over 7,000 people who commit time annually. They assist in many valuable ways. Thousands of volunteers work with our door-to-door fundraising campaign in February by canvassing and organizing canvassers. Teachers in numerous schools throughout the province are vital to the success of our Jump Rope for Heart program. Through this educational program, they teach children the importance of physical activity. Our annual Big Bike™ Ride relies on team captains to organize teams of 29 people to ride on the Big Bike™. In the Winnipeg and Brandon offices, volunteers assist with the day-to-day administration of the office. They assist with data entry, mailings, In Memorial cards, kit packing, phone calling, and many other tasks. Volunteers are members of committees that assist in the organization of the Big Bike™ Ride and Heart Truth™ Ride. These committees provide assistance in recruiting sponsors and participants. They are also actively involved in the event day activities. Most importantly, volunteers act as the Foundation’s ambassadors. Volunteers speak of the Foundation and it’s importance and carry it’s message far and wide. How Much Time is Required? What Can You Expect? Learn more about: |
